A run-machine, Subramaniam Badrinath hails from Chennai and is part of the Tamil Nadu Ranji side. Badri, as he is known, has been one of the consistent peformers on the domestic circuit, piling on runs almost at will.
A technician with the bat, Badri possess immense mental fortitude and has a cool head on his shoulders. Badri has the ability to wear down the bowlers with his tight defense and also has the skill to build an innings. Badri is also an excellent fielder, who has a safe pair of hands.
He came into the national reckoning in 2007 when he accumulated runs for India A on their tours to Zimbabwe and Kenya. He then made a 200 against the visiting South African A side, after which the selectors picked him for the first 3 ODIs against Australia, though he did not get a game.
