Timycen Maruma, born on 19 April 1988 in Harare, Zimbabwe, is a leg spinner who is also a useful lower order batter. Maruma uses his height to good effect while bowling to extract good bounce off the wicket and surprise the batsmen.
Playing for the Easterns in the Zimbabwe divisions, Maruma made a huge impact almost single handedly leading his team to the title. The right hander picked up an impressive 36 wickets at a really good average of 17.62. He was rewarded for his fine bowling with a call up to the national team for the World Cup T20 in South Africa in 2007. He did not get a chance to showcase his skills however as he was restricted to the bench.
